Premier Mark McGowan and Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery have visited Canning Vale College to reveal artists' impressions of planned upgrades to school facilities.

The State Budget included $2 million to upgrade facilities at Canning Vale College, including extending the boardroom, creating five new multi-courts and constructing a new student services wing.

A key election commitment, the upgrades will enhance school facilities and support local jobs.

Construction is expected to begin later this year with the upgrades completed by May 2019.

The upgrades are part of the McGowan Government's $465 million job creating school infrastructure package being rolled out across Western Australia.

As part of the package, 15 secondary schools across the State will be rebuilt or upgraded.

Premier Mark McGowan spoke of the State Government's commitment to education.

"My Government is committed to providing a first-class education for Western Australian students.

"The upgrades to Canning Vale College will create better school facilities and create job opportunities for local workers."
